Armed with notes, an annotated score, an iPad, and a head full of knowledge and careful planning, she jumps right in with “Seize the Day,” one of Newsies’ most rousing showstoppers.
With not much sleep and still no luggage, Greer starts her rehearsal early on Saturday morning. This sort of schedule is not unusual in the theatre, but the mercies of airports and July weather can be decidedly untender. She knew she would be flying, in several senses, from one production to the next. She knew she would be cutting it close, staging a production of The Sound of Music in Utah just prior to joining Newsies. She choreographed last year’s high-jumping production of The Music Man for The Lex and has been eager to return to the Opera House to work with the talented company of Newsies.
